Natural Holiday Table Decor Ideas
It’s that time of year where we start gathering with family and friends and hosting parties and dinners. Whether you are a formal seated place setting person or more of a buffet family style person these table decor ideas will work for any type of occasion.
I have a style, I guess you could call it a style, when it comes to decorating. More so like a style rule: Keep it inexpensive. Keep it simple. Keep it natural.
I love using natural elements to decorate my tables and home during the holiday season. I especially love those transitional elements that go perfectly from Thanksgiving right through Christmas so I can leave them up for several months.
Live greenery with twinkling lights, red cranberries and pomegranates and squash are a few things that go well with both holidays.
Here is a few of the very simple things I like to incorporate into my table decor:
Antique crocheted table cloths (over a paint drop cloth)
branches and greenery from around my neighborhood or up north in the high country (think fallen pine branches, leaves, logs/sticks and wood pieces)
Fresh herbs in vases or potted
Nuts and seeds (in their shells!) and I set out a vintage nut cracker set for anyone to help themselves
Gourds, squash and pumpkins - the best part is I get to roast them when the season is over!
Candles (dripless tapers and remote operated flameless ones)
One of four very simple tables I had for last years Thanksgiving

And for me the best part of using natural edible decor is that I can roast it up and enjoy it for days afterwards. I had a packed fridge and freezer!
